The art of work

My ability to guide, support, and advise is based on years of experience working in the sector. As an independent contractor I've also had the experience of running my own small business since 1984.

I know how easy it is to become work-weary, isolated or just plain bereft of ideas.

I am committed to ongoing professional development. Arts Council England have supported me with post-graduate level training in Business and Personal Coaching

Coaching for Arts Professionals

I work regularly with arts professionals - usually people who are in the process of transition - career development or change, redundancy, retirement or perhaps looking to start their own small business or consultancy.

In truth, I work with an amazing variety of people from all walks of life - senior managers, owners of small businesses, staff from charities and arts organisations, individual entrepreneurs and creatives - all of whom share the same desire to look both creatively and analytically at the way they work.

One-to-one support can be tailored to your requirements - usually delivered via a series of short sessions (1 or 2 hours depending on the focus of the meeting) - interspersed with email and phone support - and scheduled so as to allow time for ideas and plans to develop between our meetings.

People describe me as a 'safe pair of hands' - someone who can be trusted to act as a mirror for your ideas and concerns - thinking analytically and asking incisive questions which reveal the most fruitful way forward.

We work together to create goals and monitor them between sessions - whether that is the creation of a new life plan, developing ideas for setting up your own business, or

understanding and developing the way you work with others.

Ongoing support is provided by email or phone between sessions - so help is at hand if inspiration deserts you!
